PET INSURANCE

If your pet is insured, we are happy to provide the documentation required to submit a claim to your insurer.

Most pet insurance policies operate on a reimbursement basis. This means:

  1. You pay for treatment at the time it is provided.

  2. You submit your claim to your insurer.

  3. Your insurer assesses the claim and reimburses eligible expenses according to your policy terms and conditions.

As policy coverage varies between insurers, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly if you have questions regarding your level of cover.

SURGERY, HOSPITALISATION & PROCEDURE DEPOSITS

For some surgeries, hospitalisations and advanced procedures, we may require a deposit before admission or treatment commences.

This helps us allocate staff, equipment, medications and hospital resources to your pet's care.

Any estimated costs and deposit requirements will be discussed with you prior to treatment.

ESTIMATES AND TREATMENT COSTS

Veterinary medicine can be complex and sometimes the exact treatment required is not known until diagnostic testing or treatment has commenced.

For this reason, like all veterinary practices, we often provide estimates rather than fixed quotes.

If additional treatment, medication, testing or hospitalisation becomes necessary, our veterinary team will discuss this with you and keep you informed of any significant changes to anticipated costs.

DO YOU PROVIDE ACCOUNTS?

To help keep our fees as affordable as possible for all clients, we do not provide accounts or delayed payment arrangements.

Where financial assistance is required, VetPay may be available for approved applicants.

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

If you are concerned about the cost of your pet's treatment, we encourage you to discuss this with our veterinary team as early as possible.

In many situations, we can explain available diagnostic and treatment options, prioritise urgent care, and help you make informed decisions that suit both your pet's needs and your circumstances.

Payment Options FAQ

Do you offer payment plans?
We offer VetPay, a third-party finance provider that may allow approved applicants to spread the cost of veterinary treatment over time.

Can I claim pet insurance at the time of treatment?
In most cases, pet insurance operates on a reimbursement basis. This means you pay for treatment at the time it is provided and then submit a claim directly to your insurer.

We do not participate in GapOnly. GapOnly charges veterinary practices a percentage-based transaction fee. Rather than incorporating these costs into our fees and increasing prices for all clients, we have chosen to keep our overall pricing as affordable as possible and allow clients to claim directly with their insurer.

We are happy to provide itemised invoices and any supporting documentation required to assist with your claim to insurers.

Do you provide accounts?
No. Payment is required at the time services are provided. VetPay may be available for approved applicants.

Why don't you provide accounts?
To help keep our fees affordable, we do not provide accounts or delayed payment arrangements. Providing accounts increases administrative costs, bad debt risk and cash flow requirements, which ultimately increases costs for all clients. Instead, we offer VetPay for eligible clients who require finance assistance.

Will I receive an estimate before surgery?
Yes. We aim to provide estimates for procedures and will discuss any significant changes should additional treatment become necessary.

Why do you provide estimates rather than fixed quotes?
Veterinary medicine is not always predictable. The exact treatment, medications or hospitalisation required may change as your pet's condition is assessed. Estimates provide a realistic guide to expected costs while allowing treatment to be tailored to your pet's needs.

Do you require deposits for surgery?
Some procedures and hospital admissions may require a deposit before treatment commences. Deposits help us reserve veterinary, nursing and hospital resources for your pet and reduce the impact of late cancellations on other patients requiring care.

Can I pay by card or phone wallet?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS and mobile payment methods.

Do you accept Afterpay, Zip Pay or other buy now pay later services?
No. We do not currently offer Afterpay, Zip Pay or other buy now pay later services.

These services typically charge veterinary practices significant merchant fees which can ultimately increase the cost of providing care. Our preference is to keep our fees as competitive as possible for all clients rather than incorporating these costs into our pricing.

For clients who require assistance with larger veterinary expenses, we offer VetPay, a finance option specifically designed for veterinary care. Applications are subject to VetPay's approval criteria. Unlike many buy now pay later services, VetPay may allow approved clients to spread payments over longer periods, including 6 or 12 months and, in some circumstances, longer repayment terms. Interest, fees and charges apply.

If you have concerns about the cost of your pet's treatment, we encourage you to discuss this with our team. We are happy to explain available treatment options, provide estimates and help you make informed decisions about your pet's care.
