Our five-week Puppy Pre-School program helps puppies grow into confident, well-mannered and sociable dogs, while giving owners practical skills to build a strong lifelong bond with their puppy.

The five-week course costs $200 per puppy and includes course notes and graduation resources.

WHAT YOU AND YOUR PUPPY WILL LEARN
Our Puppy Pre-School classes focus on positive reinforcement training methods and practical real-world skills.
Topics covered include:
Understanding normal puppy behaviour
Toilet training advice
Puppy biting and mouthing
Socialisation and confidence-building
Learning how to read your puppy’s body language
Responsible dog ownership
Coping with common puppy challenges
Building positive relationships with people and other dogs
Practical obedience skills including:
Sit
Drop
Come when called
Walking nicely on a lead
You will also receive comprehensive course notes for future reference.
WHY CHOOSE OUR PUPPY PRE-SCHOOL?
Our experienced trainers, Jenny and Marion, are trained and accredited through the Delta Institute Australia and each holds a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training.
Following Delta class-size guidelines, we intentionally limit each class to five puppies. This allows every puppy and owner to receive personalised attention and guidance throughout the course.
Classes use positive-reinforcement techniques in a calm, supportive environment that encourages learning and builds confidence in both puppies and owners.
The five-week course includes a 30-minute talk presented by one of our veterinarians. Our trainers also work with the veterinary team to strengthen and keep the course material relevant.
Our evidence-based curriculum is supported by comprehensive take-home information. At graduation, families also receive useful training and safety resources to help continue their puppy’s learning at home.
Unlike classes delivered as an additional duty by general veterinary staff, our Puppy Pre-School is led by trainers specifically qualified in animal behaviour and training.

WHEN SHOULD I ENROL MY PUPPY?
Classes are specifically designed for puppies aged between 8 and 16 weeks when the class commences, which is considered the most important socialisation and learning period in a dog’s development.
Research has consistently shown that positive experiences and early training during this stage can have lifelong benefits.
Places are limited due to our small class sizes, so early booking is recommended.
“We sometimes get enquiries from owners about Puppy Pre-School after their puppy has finished their full course of vaccinations as they want to keep them safe. Yes, it is important for their health not to socialise a puppy (outside a puppy school environment) during this time, but be sure not to miss the 8-16 week age period of the class as this is the crucial window for puppy learning. ”
